Jawbone is a powerful drama telling the story of former youth boxing champion Jimmy McCabe (played by the films screenwriter Johnny Harris). A man who after hitting rock bottom, returns to a familiar childhood boxing club, and its familiar faces, looking for one last attempt at pulling himself back together.

Director Thomas Napper’s feature length debut, and actor Johnny Harris’ writing debut, Jawbone is a gritty British thriller, filmed partially in Birmingham, at Digbeth, where the fight scenes took place. The film gained wide critical success, with praise particularly focused on the debuting duo.
